I had a tinny speech in the 8th International Sport Business Symposium today; I stood in front of some professional sports business people and did it. Actually, I am just a helper to help my professor Bonnie Tiell to collect the data in China; but she gave me the opportunity to make a small speech in the presentation. It was a great opportunity to show myself I knew that, but I was not confident about in my English and knowledge. I need to learn more. I have been the United States for one and half years, and this summer I trough a lot, online class, mentorship experience, family issues, and the big trip to Rio. This was final shot, I did it, and I knew that I have to keep moving to learning! I will do my best to learn more until I confidently stand in front of the people and talking my proposal. I am looking forward that day!

Today is the most important day for the whole team, my friends and I as the volunteers to participate in a “Humanitarian Project” with 60 local children. We had prepared different events and mini Olympics and were hoping that children can enjoy the Olympics, understand the importance of teamwork, and experience the real fun in sports. We went to the Reunion Center at noon to got ready for props and venues that the “Humanitarian Project” needed. Unfortunately, children did not come for some reasons, professor Bonin Tiell and we all felt a bit disappointment. Fortunately, we got special credit to talk to some great people face to face who involved in sports business that linked with the Olympics for many years and have achieved great success. They told us about the operation and revenue model of the commercial process in the sports industry; these real cases let me learn a lot. There was an old lady, who has engaged in sports for over 40 years, I was impressed by her experience that women can win a place in the sports industry, which dominated by men. Female can gain respect and great success by their efforts. She persists in what she wants to do in sports; she is the person who I want to be. This is the first time I've ever had to face to face with these amazing people, I used to see them on TV or in magazines; I don't know that may be the only opportunity that I got and talk to them, I hope I can have the chance to work with them. I will work hard for this! Rio de Janeiro is a great city! I have been here for 5 days, the weather, scenery, people, and food that everything is fresh and fantastic. I was looking forward to working for the Olympic Games. Tonight was my first time to volunteer for the conference service of the World Olympians Association in the Reunion Center. In fact, the event was a big party; I met the president of the IOC, Mr. Thomas Bach whose speech was inspiring; I met some great people who have the higher achievement in the world sports business, and we had the amazing conversation. I enjoyed the great benefit of the party. The most exciting to me is that I met my idol, a navigator Guo Chuan who is the first and the only Chinese person to complete the single sailing seaway cross the Arctic Ocean death channel. It is the highest honor to the navigators and just a few people completed it in the world. Mr. Guo Chuan is a gentleman; he casually told me his adventures about thrilling voyage story. He is the real man who fulls of power and passion, and his dedication touched me. I was proud of him!
In the few hours, dancing with friends, tasting the Brazil traditional food and wine, and communicating with people who I like and adore, all of these became the most special memories in my life. Today is my last day working for CCTV. Compared to the days when I was working as an assistant at Beijing Sports University, the experience in July is a torment to me. Of course, I also learned more. Ultimately, the plan that was changed many times has passed and will be shown on the screen tomorrow; CCTV Studio in Rio has been used for few days. Everything looks like on their tracks. Like my mentor Luo Gong said, our program was tested in the broadcasting process, we are making the adjustment while we are broadcasting. And each change that means have to adjust staff, equipment, and resources, as a leader who should focus on the whole picture and combine the interests of every department.
The colleagues in the picture are CCTV Rio report team, who will fly to Rio tomorrow. I will arrive Rio 7 days later and to start my Olympic trip as a tourist to enjoy the surprise and happiness from Olympic Games. Friends, see you in Rio! Such a suffering period to me! I watch the TV programs and collect information every day; my head will explode. Three weeks passed away, this job makes me realized that the TV program planning is not an easy task. Watching TV and attending the meeting can not make people think of some good ideas, I need to find inspiration from the mass of the program which can combine with our existing resources to create a unique project based on the Chinese audience watching habits. However, the Internet does not only change the business model, but also the video broadcasting market. The video websites and the portals’ video channel becomes the main competitor to the TV station. As a traditional media, TV station's survival space is continuously compressed. How to optimize the resources to produce attractive programs, which have become a big issue to leaders.
The second draft of “60-News” was born today, which is more feasible contrast the previous one. But Chief Luo Gang said, there was no plan to be perfect, and any proposal needs to be revised according to the audience's feedback in the process of the broadcasting t. Perhaps the last episode is the best one than formers, but no perfect solution for ever. Series tabulation that is a special list that we used as a program guide to control the length of the each story and its’ broadcast sequence. The first team of our staff arrived in Rio yesterday, we need work together to test the system and series Tabulation, analog news broadcast, contact the reporter in Rio, and other communication works. It sounds are not a complicated process. In fact, a 60-minute program which needs more than 60 staff work together in Rio and Beijing, including reporters, cameraman, director, editor, presenter, audio and video engineers, lighting engineer, cooperate with other ten several positions. We need to overcome some problem, such as time difference, time-delay of video transmission, equipment failure, and unexpected accidents in the scene, and other controllable and uncontrollable problem to complete the program. As Chief Luo said, no matter how well we did in advance that is not enough to deal with the chaos of the scene. As a leader, control power is the necessary quality.
